Happy Fall

It was a perfect Florida day...it's was not too hot, the sun was shining and this lovely family was all smiles as we took a stroll around Disney's Boardwalk. 

Central Florida Event Photography | Ironman 70.3

The day after the IronKids battled the 70.3 mile course more than two thousand athletes gathered on the same lake to conquer the Ironman 70.3. The course was the same but the energy was worlds apart, today winning mattered, finishing 1st was the goal. As more than fifteen thousand spectators lined the streets, one of America's most decorated athletes crossed the finish line in 3 hours and 45 minutes, he finished first. Lance Armstrong the seven time Tour de France winner won his first Ironman that day in Haines City, Florida and claimed his first triathlon win in 20 years.

It was a day of firsts; Lance's 1st Ironman win, the 1st time Haines City hosted the event and the 1st time I had the honor & privilege to capture history being made by a world class athlete.

It was a warm Saturday morning and as the sun rose over Lake Eva boys & girls ages 6-15 of all walks of life from all over the world gathered. They were about to embark on a challenging 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike trek and a 13.1 mile run and just in case you lost count that's 70.3 miles. That's the IronKids 70.3.

The crowd cheered with excitement and proud parents chanted their children's names...it was glorious. That day I witnessed dedication, motivation and focus at its best. It didn't matter who finished this race first because every single one of these children were winners! Their parents & families were winners, their coaches and teachers were winners because to achieve such greatness at such a young age makes you a winner.
